Corpus Christi is a public holiday in Innerrhoden on which, weather permitting, magnificent processions take place in various villages, during which the Innerrhoden festive costume is worn.

The Corpus Christi service in Appenzell is celebrated in fine weather at 8.45 am in the courtyard of St Antonius Grammar School. The magnificent procession then makes its way to the parish church of St Mauritius for the final blessing, stopping at the Landsgemeindeplatz and in front of the Chlos school building.

If the weather is unfavourable, the Eucharist will be celebrated at 8.45 am in the parish church of St. Mauritius, with or without a short procession afterwards (to be decided at the last minute).

Corpus Christi services are also held in the villages around Appenzell, sometimes with processions (weather permitting): for example in Schwende, Brülisau, Gonten, Eggerstanden, Haslen and Schlatt.
